Memorial Day: Paramus Veterans’ Home Drive-By
This event made me wish I had a GoPro on my car. People were watching and filming from the windows. Active soldiers were outside, watching and waving. It was quite an experience. Here’s part of the lineup; 15 vintage cars were involved. (CBS covered the events and caught some of our cars going by.)
These photos are from the drive-by along the length of the facility; we went by the front doors and lobby three times, and all the way along the side three times. It was very well organized.
2020 Spring Tour arranged by Peter Doll
Getting together - around 20 cars were included (two joined along the way).
This guy stopped in his tracks when he saw us. He asked Pete Doll, in the lead car (Tom took the final-car position), whehter we were going to a car show. I heard him clearly say “Awesome!” when Pete explained it from 20 feet away. He (and many other pedestrians) stayed right where he was and filmed the tour going by.
The route took us from the Panera parking lot on Route 4 through back roads, past the reservoir, up to Norwood (we were still going north in these photos), back past the reservoir to the south, rounding the Hackensack River at the Ling, and finishing up in the empty Sears parking lot—all while obeying the mask and distancing rules.
